What is...... cellulose aceto butyrat?

Cellulose aceto butyrat, abbreviated CAB, is a modified natural substance from wood. This is the material from which PB Swiss Tools Classic and multicraft handles are made. Because the modified natural materials in air-tight boxes and drawers can develop an unpleasant smell, we add a slight vanilla aroma to neutralize it. The video “Eastman Cellulose Esters” from Eastman shows how the material is made and how to care for it.
